“As a Commissioner on the Board for the past two years, Sandy is well-poised to assume the role of Vice Chair,” said Board Chair, Drew Mulhare, CMCA, LSM, PCAM. “Sandy is a tireless and engaged change agent for the profession and a strong advocate for the CMCA credential. From her efforts as a member of the CAMICB Exam Development Committee and Continuing Education Review Committee, to her former roles as President of Community Associations Institute (CAI) as well as the Foundation for Community Association Research (FCAR), Sandy brings an abundance of knowledge, experience and passion to her work.” Denton currently serves as a member of CAI’s Large Scale Committee, its Government and Public Affairs Committee and is a faculty member for CAI.
“I’m thrilled to move into the role of Vice Chair for the Board as I’m passionate about continuing to support and move our profession forward,” said Sandy Denton, CMCA, LSM, PCAM. “Over the years, it’s been rewarding to see the professionalism of managers increase. Being a part of the industry’s growth, both nationally and internationally – and CAMICB in particular – is exciting.”
“The appointment of Greg to the board is a natural fit,” added Mulhare. “Greg honorably served as CAI’s 2017 president and has been a valued member of the board of trustees. He has vast industry experience and a deep understanding of the international community association management landscape and best practices. His perspective and insights will be invaluable as CAMICB expands its international presence.”
“It’s an honor to be appointed to the CAMICB Board of Commissioners and I look forward to serving alongside this group of talented and well-respected industry leaders,” stated Greg Smith, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, Associa Senior Community Management Consultant. “As a Commissioner, I look forward to learning more about the organization and leveraging my strengths and experience to benefit the Board and to protect homeowners living in community associations. I’m excited about the expansion of the CMCA credential and stand ready to further this mission.”

The Community Association Managers International Certification Board (CAMICB) is an independent board that sets the standards for community association managers worldwide. CAMICB developed, maintains, and administers the Certified Manager of Community Associations® (CMCA) examination. Passing the CMCA exam and maintaining the standards of the CMCA certification is proof that a manager is knowledgeable, ethical, and professional.
The only accredited certification program in the world for managers of homeowner and condominium associations and housing cooperatives, the CMCA credential is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). NCCA’s stringent accreditation standards for a professional certification program is a high mark of quality and validates the integrity of the CMCA program.
As CAMICB grew to be the premiere certification body in the United States for community association managers, it also gained international recognition for its established body of knowledge and strict ethical standards. In 2017, CAMICB launched the international CMCA examination. Today, there are nearly 20,000 CMCAs worldwide.
