Retention Rate: CAMICB has awarded over 20,000 CMCA certifications. CMCAs are required to submit an annual fee to maintain the credential. Biannually, managers are required to submit documentation of the requisite continuing education. If one of these pieces is not met (payment or continuing education), certification becomes inactive. The retention rate indicates the percentage of CMCAs who pay the requisite fees and submit the requisite continuing education documentation.

The number of candidates approved for testing may not be completely representative of the total number of candidates who tested in the calendar year, as a candidate may apply in one year but choose to wait up to a year to take the exam. Total CMCAs represents the total amount of certifications awarded, including those CMCAs who have retired or no longer practicing community association management.
