Share what you've learned about the value of the CMCA with your employer and clients
It is in your community's and/or your company's best interest to support your professional development. In CAI Research Foundation's Community Association Manager Compensation and Salary Survey, 86 percent of survey respondents indicated their employers paid for some or all of their training and education.
CAMICB can help you gain that support by providing information you can share with your board members and management company CEO. Below is material that demonstrates the importance of training and certification for community managers:
- Hiring a CMCA—an overview of the CMCA certification. Describes how hiring a CMCA-certified manager can benefit a community and/or management company.
- Getting support from your management company—describes what management companies can do to provide support for community managers, including how to offer financial and other support for your professional development.
- Getting support from your association board— describes what associations can do to provide support for community managers, including how to offer financial and other support for your professional development.
CMCA Program Reimbursable under the GI Bill
Veterans can apply to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for reimbursement for the CMCA certification examination through Congress-approved changes to the GI Bill in 2001. GI-eligible veterans can be reimbursed for either the paper-and-pencil or computer-based examinations-and reimbursement is provided whether they pass or fail the exam.
