Organizations or individuals who have demonstrated the ability to design, implement, and evaluate continuing education programs for community association managers may submit the Continuing Education Course Provider Application to become a CAMICB approved education provider.  Continuing education courses must relate to community association operations or management and contribute to the professional development of the CMCA. Courses related to buying and selling real estate are not acceptable. Examples of topics include:

  • Accounting and Business Practices
  • Budgets, Reserves, Investments, and Assessments
  • Community Governance
  • Community Leadership
  • Contracting
  • Ethics
  • Legal Issues
  • Meetings
  • Property Maintenance
  • Risk Management and Insurance

Requirements for Approval

The requirements for successful approval of continuing education courses are outlined in the Continuing Education Course Provider Application. Applications must be properly formatted and submitted to info@camicb.org according to the course submission schedule. Providers offering virtual or electronic courses, such as webinars, must provide proof that their delivery platform will track student participation. Community association management company in-house training material must be reviewed and approved by the CAMICB Continuing Education Review Committee. Only one half or eight (8) continuing education credits may be obtained through pre-approved in-house training courses.

Coursework which meets the standard criteria may be submitted for review and approval to CAMICB. If proposed coursework is judged to meet the criteria set forth, it will be approved for a two-year cycle. Within 45 days of the program offering, providers must submit an Attendance Roster.  Providers are responsible for issuing Certificates of Attendance to students upon successful completion of the program. Coursework which has been previously approved by CAMICB, may be re-submitted for staff approval in consecutive years, if the coursework has not been altered between years.

The CAMICB Continuing Education Review Committee meets monthly to review and approve coursework.  Individuals or groups interested in becoming an approved provider must complete and submit the Continuing Education Course Provider Application for approval. Retroactive credit is not given.
